Director of Engineering

A position for Director of Engineering is open, effective immediately. The position objectives are:

To manage long and short-range system planning design and electrical distribution facility construction; to complete load forecasting to ensure adequate facilities are in place; and to determine the need, specifications and configurations to procure and implement technology-based solutions to aid in the management of transmission, substation, distribution, metering and mapping.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university is required. A Professional Engineering license from the state of Tennessee or Virginia is preferred. A minimum of five-plus years of proven experience in the electrical utility industry is required. Proficiency required in all aspects of electrical distribution lines, sub-transmission lines, substations, metering and services. The individual in this position must hold thorough knowledge and skills concerning computer hardware and software used by the Cooperative.

Residency requirements include residing within 45 minutes of home office due to the position being subject to after hours and/or emergency call-out.

Accounting Clerk

A position for Accounting Clerk is open, effective immediately. The objectives for this position are:

To assist the Director of Accounting and Finance in executing the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and controlling the total accounting and financial functions of the Cooperative.

To fulfill the objectives of this position, the individual shall be responsible for:

  • Accounts payable
  • Payroll
  • Vehicle records
  • Payroll tax reports
  • Regulatory related reports
  • Cash Management Program
  • Audits
  • And other special projects as assigned by supervisor

An Associate degree in a business related field or equivalent experience (two-year bookkeeping or accounting) required. Bachelor degree in accounting or other business discipline or equivalent experience (four plus years bookkeeping or accounting) preferred. Must be able to read, write, perform mathematical computations and possess clear and accurate communication skills both verbal and oral.
