Like any revolutionary idea, the idea behind Green Switch® is simple: harness the natural power of the wind, the sun and the earth to create an energy source that’s usable in our everyday lives. TVA and PVEC, working in cooperation with the environmental community, developed Green Switch® as a way to bring cleaner, green power to the Tennessee Valley. When you join Green Switch®, you are helping pay for renewable energy that is generated throughout the TVA service area. Participation is strictly voluntary. Green Switch® is sold to residential members in 200-kilowatt-hour blocks. Each block adds $2 to your monthly power bill. Members can buy as many blocks as they like.
